Thursday Feb 11th Trail Run @ 6:30am -- Off-leash dog run -- Remember to bring your headlamp and Yaktrak's.
Due to the awful air quality, we have changed the location of this week’s run. Instead of meeting at Popperton for the BST Loop run, we will be meeting at 6:30 am in upper Mill Creek Canyon at the parking lot by the winter gate. We will plan to run on the snow-packed road out and back for about 5 miles. Thursday is an off-leash dog day in Mill Creek Canyon so feel free to bring your dogs for an off-leash run. Please note that there is a $3 fee when leaving the canyon; however, the fee station usually isn’t open in the morning. Hopefully, we won’t have to pay.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - 38th Annual Winter Running Series 30K
We are less than a month away from the Winter Series, and we would once again love your volunteer assistance, whether you are running the running the races or not.
The races are at the Great Saltair, with the 5K on January 30, the 10K on 2/13, and the 15K on 2/27. All races start at 10 am, with an optional 9 am start for the 15K. In addition, this year we are adding a packet pickup the day before the race at Wasatch Running Center in Sandy.
The different areas where we could use assistance include pre-registration and setup, finish line, and post-race refreshments, and awards. We also will need a few volunteers for pre-race packet pickup the day before at Wasatch Running Center. Race day volunteers should usually arrive by about 8:30 am on race day to assist with what is needed, and we are usually packed up and ready to leave the venue by about noon. The shifts at Wasatch Running Center will likely be from about noon to 8 pm, about 2 hours each.
Please let me know if you are interested. Our awesome volunteers continue to be an admired part of the series!
