40th Annual Beat the New Year 5k

[metaslider id=1609]

December 31, 2017
Sugar House Park
Start – 11:15pm and 11:30pm

A popular New Year’s Eve tradition, our 40th Annual Beat the New Year 5K really is all about fun. Ring in the New Year like never before! Want to get away from the bar scene, or leave your family room for a unique New Year experience? Have a fitness goal for 2018? Kick off the new goal at a party with all your running friends. We promise it will be fun.

It will be cold! Dress up (best costume is awarded) and grab those hats, gloves and winter coats. At the finish line we do our best to keep you warm with warm cheers, outdoor heaters, and delicious hot chocolate and treats.  After midnight will keep it quick, crown Mr. and Ms. 2018 and other award winners and let you get off somewhere warm to continue your celebrations, or like some of us, home to a warm bed.

So come out for some “Puttin’ on the Ritz” to celebrate the New Year, your fitness goals, or just plain cheer.  Grab your winter gear, your best costume, your friends and family and come run in 2018! Your participation helps us provide free running shoes, shirts, running-related instruction , and coaching to Making Strides (a 5-week program hosted in partnership with The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake).
